1. How accurate is the drug of abuse test?

The drug of abuse test provides a preliminary analytical result. It is possible that certain interfering substances in the urine specimen may cause erroneous result.

 

2. Does the test knows the difference between drug of abuse and medication?

No, the test will not be able to distinguish the difference between drug of abuse and certain medication that may contain the same drugs being tested.

 

3. How soon the drug be tested?

To detect drugs in the urine, it must be absorbed, circulated in the bloods and deposited in the bladder. This process take a few hours for most drugs. Thus, an individual who was tested just 15 or 20 minutes after using drugs would probably get a negative results.
